Dr. Erik J. Carlson is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in general orthopaedic surgery, sports medicine, and hand and upper extremity surgery. Dr. Carlson graduated from Yale School of Medicine with his medical degree in 2008 and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency in 2013 at Yale University and Yale-New Haven Hospital. He completed a subspecialty fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Dr. Carlson is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and active in the orthopaedic community in Waterbury, CT. He has served as a clinical instructor for orthopaedic trainees at Yale University and Chief of the Hand Surgery service at Waterbury Hospital. He currently is the Section Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery and Associate Medical Director for Orthopaedic Surgery at St. Mary's Hospital. He currently serves on the board of SOHO Health and the Connecticut Orthopaedic Society.
