Committed to providing individualized, compassionate care to all his patients in the Greater Waterbury region, Dr. James Aglio specializes in treating hand, wrist, and upper extremity conditions.


Dr. Aglio holds fellowship training from the University of Miami Hospital, and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University. He attended medical school at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.


Throughout his medical training, Dr. Aglio developed specialized expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of upper extremity disorders. The patients he treats suffer from disorders like carpal tunnel syndrome, wrist fractures, tendon and nerve injuries, and other complex conditions affecting the hand, wrist, and forearm.


Serving as a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, Dr. Aglio is also passionate about helping advance the latest science in hand and forearm care. 


Working as an orthopedic surgeon at Active Orthopaedics, P.C., he is proud to offer surgical solutions and patient-centered care to his patients of all ages.
